Kati Komulainen (born 1975) achieved a doctorate in health science (majoring in nursing) at Tampere University in 2014. He has worked at Laurea University of Applied Sciences since 2008 and is currently the head of Laurea University of Applied Sciences' education and regional services unit. Komulainen is from Kellokoski.
The board of Vaasa University of Applied Sciences was satisfied with the skills and experience of the applicants, but Komulainen still stood out from the crowd.
