To whom:
Not Just For Coders! Beginners, students, experts, engineers, makers, artists, storytellers - Space Apps is for you! We welcome all passionate problem solvers to participate!
This event is free of charge, and everyone can participate. For the legal reasons you have to be over 18 years old.
Why:
Hackathon is an intensive development session, which in this case lasts for 48 hours. The goal is that your team will build solution to specific challenge. NASA provides the challenges and datasets you can use, if you will. But this event is not for the coders alone.
You can come alone or with a team. We will help you to form teams at the beginning of the hackathon. And we will guide you during the whole event.
Although this hackathon is not a competition, prizes will be given to selected teams. And two teams solution to a specific challenge from this site will be forwarded to NASA, where grand jury will then pick the global winners, and they will be invited to watch space shuttle launch live.
How:
Register through the spaceappschallenge.org -website. Please make sure to select “Vaasa”.
And remember to bring your own hardware you (laptop, Arduinos, whatever you think you need). We have basic hobby materials available (paper, scissors etc.).
