Pathway studies refer to the first-year courses of degree programs that are taken at an open university of applied sciences according to the curriculum, in the same group as degree students. The extent of the studies is 15 ECTS credits in master’s degree programs and they are mainly completed within one academic year.

Registration for Pathway Studies
The pathway study program consists of two parts. With this product card, you can register for the first part of the pathway studies. You will receive the right to study for the first semester, during which you will complete about half of the pathway study program.

- To complete the entire pathway study program (15 ECTS credits), you must also register and pay for the second part of the pathway studies. The total cost of the study program is €300, which you pay in two parts (€150 per part).
- Registration for the second part will open before the start of the next semester. We will inform you by email when it is possible to register for the second part.
- After completing the pathway studies, you can apply to become a degree student through the separate application process. Being accepted as a degree student requires completing both parts of the pathway studies, totaling 15 ECTS credits/€300.
Cancellation Terms
- If for some reason you are unable to participate in the studies, please notify us as soon as possible. It is absolutely essential to cancel your participation in time so that the spot can be given to someone on the waiting list.
- You can cancel your registration within 14 days of registering, before the start of the studies, by notifying us at verkkokauppa@vamk.fi. For cancellations made later, half of the annual fee will be charged. The paid study fee is a prerequisite for participation in the studies and for maintaining the right to study.
Content of training
As a path student, you will study the Project Management degree programme for one academic year, which means that you study the first year of your degree programme according to the curriculum.
The programme in Project Management focuses on providing students with skills and competencies to work in both local and an international project environment. This master’s degree is suitable for business and engineering professionals interested in project management, and who want to assume project managerial and leadership positions in their organizations.
- Studying takes place at the same pace in a group of degree students.
- The content of the education is in accordance with the curriculum of Vaasa University of Applied Sciences.
- The studies you completed will later be counted as part of the degree.
- Those planning degree studies should note that before applying as a degree student in a separate application, one must have at least two years of industry-specific work experience after completing the Bachelor of Arts degree.

Method of implementation
Method of Implementation is blended teaching. In blended teaching, there is some contact teaching on campus, but the main focus of the studies is on independent study and online studies. Meetings that require attendance are organized on weekday evenings and weekends depending on the degree, please always check the exact dates and times on the individual pages of each implementation.
