Hybrid Course on Renewable Energy Systems
This hybrid course plan integrates online theoretical grounding with practical, on-site experiences, encouraging active learning, intercultural collaboration, and real-world application of renewable energy solutions. Through Padlet pre-tasks, structured online sessions, and an immersive face-to-face component, participants gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to excel in renewable energy planning and implementation.
Content of the hybrid course
The course aims to foster collaboration, cross-cultural communication, and technical competence in renewable energy systems, with a particular focus on solar energy and battery storage. The course consists of three online sessions and face-to-face activities.
Course Objectives
Team Collaboration & Cultural Exchange
- Form effective, diverse teams through Belbin assessments and interactive tasks.
- Foster international and intercultural dialogue via country presentations.
Technical Competence in Renewable Energy
- Introduce key concepts in solar technology and battery storage.
- Apply theoretical knowledge to real-life case studies and practical design tools.
Sustainable Business & Regulatory Awareness
- Explore sustainability concepts, responsible business practices, and relevant regulations in Botswana, the EU, and beyond.
- Assess how these regulations impact renewable energy project implementation.
