Tuesday 1.10.2024

  • 9:00-10:00 Welcome and registration, Place: Alere building, Wolffintie 27, Auditorum Florence
  • 10:00-10:30 Coffee
  • 10:30-11:45 Keynote speakers:
    • Senior Lecturer Asseri Laitinen from VAMK: Climate Actions at Finnish Univeristies of Applies Sciences
    • Guests from Business Academy Aarhus, Denmark: How we work with sustainability in daily teaching and as an institution Business Academy Aarhus
  • 12-13  Lunch
  • 12.45-14.30 Lectures given by participants/ meetings with VAMK staff, Address: Wolffintie 30
    • 12.45-14.15     WB1057:  Ulm University of Applied Sciences, Germany: Electrochemical Energy Storages and their application
    • 13-14.30          Festival Hall: Technicum Wien, Austria:  The development of criteria and indicators for sustainable development
  • 15-16.30 Campus tour (Technobothnia, Alere etc.)

  • 9:00-10:00 Publication of VAMK’s Special Issue in Internationalization, Wolffintie 30,  Auditorium B1022 (for writers of Publication and the guests)
  • 10:00-11:30 Lectures given by participants/meeting with VAMK Staff, Wolffintie 30
    • Festival Hall:  Business Academy Aarhus, Denmark:   Sustainability and business incl. mini-case.  (45 min)
    • WB1057: Technicum Wien, Austria: Sustainability , Ethics in Technology, Technology Assessment
    • WC1146:  Ulm University of Applied Sciences, Germany: Energy research at THU
  • 12:00-13:00 Lunch
  • 13-16  Keynote speak and workshop at Design Centre MUOVA, adress: Wolffintie 36 F 11
  •  Keynote speaker from MUOVA: Project manager Elise Raittila: Ethics and bias in Artificial Intelligence/different approaches for Higher Education, adult Education and Youth
    Followed by workshop: Embedding Social Science methods in participants own education contents

 

 

Thursday 3.10.2024

  • 9:00-13:00  Company visit to Wartsila and lunch
  • 13-13:45 Lectures given by participant/ meetings with VAMK staff
    • WA1066-67: HTWG-Konstanz, Germany:
      • The role of energy cooperatives in the German energy transition. A short overview on the challenges of the German energy transition and on the role that bottom-up emerging energy cooperatives are playing (about 20 minutes)
      • Interdisciplinary projects on circular economy. A brief description of interdisciplinary student project work on the topic of circular economy (about 20 minutes)
  • 14:00-15:00 Coffee  and Certifications of Stay
  • 18:00-22:00 Farewell dinner at Restaurant Fröj (Number of participants is limited)

Travelling to Vaasa

It is easy to travel to Vaasa regardless of where you are coming from. The airport is only 10 minutes from the city center of Vaasa, and the railway station is located in the city center.

By Train: 3.5-4 hours from Helsinki to Vaasa. There is also a commuter train connction from Helsinki airport to Helsinki. If you don’t want to go to the city center, you can stop already at Tikkurila railway station, change to long distance train and continue travelling to Vaasa. If you choose to change train in Tikkurila, use Train P. On the other hand, if you wish to visit Helsinki city center, you can use either train I or P.
