Project description
The Fuel Cells and Green Hydrogen Centres of Vocational Excellence towards affordable, secure, and sustainable energy for Europe project aims to close the existing skills gap in the fuel cells and clean hydrogen industry. The project will establish the H2Excellence Platform of Vocational Excellence that will create and implement lifelong learning offers and develop transnational curricula. In addition, by creating local clusters in a subset of countries with high potential for industry and the development of training programs and curricula, the desired impact of the project is to contribute to the energy transition targets laid out in the European Green Deal.
Goals
- To support the goals of the European Green Deal by creating an educational offer that will tackle skills gap in the sector of fuel cells and clean hydrogen technology.
- To create pan-European knowledge centres to become a benchmark in training, research, knowledge-transfer, and awareness-raising on fuel cells and green hydrogen technology.
- To map and integrate green hydrogen in local regional economic and innovative systems to contribute to quality employment and career-long opportunities in the sector.
Results
- To produce a competent workforce for the Hydrogen industry, with skills and competences aligned with the market needs
- To develop and provide training of staff, students, and training of company staff (up-skilling and reskilling)
- To spread and replicate project results in other regions in order for other education providers to provide training of staff, students and training of company staff for working life
- To get the result for VET rolled out on a national level and part of the national/regional curricula. To strengthen further international cooperation and mobility of staff, students but also for green hydrogen experts and workers.To foster international support to companies (SMEs) operating in green hydrogen, through technical support, training, reskilling and upskilling employees
- To foster common activities and collaboration between different green hydrogen supply chain partners, including research and innovation support hub
