Project description
The aim of the project is to improve the skills and readiness of primary and secondary school teachers to act in resuscitation situations and make emergency calls. Additionally, the goal is to teach these skills to students using simulation pedagogy. The training will be conducted both in-person and online, involving teachers from Laihia and Isokyrö,
Goals
- Enhance teachers’ skills and readiness to act in resuscitation situations and make emergency calls in various emergency scenarios.
- Develop teaching methods for students to learn resuscitation and emergency calling skills using simulation pedagogy.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate simulation exercises on resuscitation situations and emergency calling.
- Design and implement a comprehensive resuscitation and emergency calling training module for primary and secondary school students
Results
The training materials developed in the project will be available for use in primary and secondary education. The project’s results and training videos will be presented at the Educa fair in 2025. The results and experiences will also be shared in the Opettaja magazine, publications of Vaasa University of Applied Sciences, and on social media channels. The impact of the training will be monitored through surveys of teachers and students.
