Project description
The Cognitive Robotics Initiative for Industry 5.0 aims to integrate cognitive robotics, especially in manufacturing processes. The project focuses on three main areas: improving human-robot interaction, developing intuitive programming methods and transferring skills through imitation learning. The project activities will address robot sensing, methods and testing, user interface design, safety, and pilot projects such as intelligent welding robotics, flexible assembly robots and safe robotics environments.
Goals
The main objectives are to increase industrial productivity, compensate labour shortages and reduce environmental impacts. In addition, the project aims to promote the wider adoption of cognitive robotics technologies in Finnish industry, which will enable a faster uptake of advanced technologies and innovations.
Results
The project aims to have a positive impact on production efficiency, robotics safety and energy efficiency. The technological solutions to be developed will make national and European manufacturing plants more competitive by using advanced cognitive robotics solutions to improve production efficiency and reduce costs. The project will also strengthen international cooperation with European partners and is expected to generate new research collaboration in the field.
