The library invoices unreturned book loans

Tritonia reminds customers to return or renew overdue loans before the summer. Overdue loans will be charged an overdue fee according to the service charges list.

See service charges list

If the borrower has unpaid overdue fees 10 € or more in total, a patron block will take effect. A customer with a patron block cannot borrow, reserve or take out new loans. The patron block will be removed when the payments are paid in full or reduced below the patron block limit

The maximum overdue fee is 10 euros/loan. For short-term loans, the maximum overdue fee is 12 euros/loan. The library considers that the loan has been lost by the customer if it is not returned after 50 days from the due date.

If the loan is not returned despite reminders to return and after the invoice warning, the library sends the customer an invoice for the lost material to be compensated (at least €80/book). After sending the invoice, the invoice must be paid in full and the material becomes the property of the customer and it can no longer be returned to the library.

A lost book can also be compensated by bringing a new copy of the same or a newer edition to the library.
