The Ambassador of the United States visited Technobothnia

On Monday, March 11, 2024, the United States Ambassador to Finland, Douglas Hickey, visited the Technobothnia teaching laboratory on the Palosaari campus. During the visit, the ambassador met with the leadership team of the teaching laboratory and familiarised himself with the activities of Technobothnia.

Technobothnia, jointly owned by Vaasa University of Applied Sciences, the University of Vaasa, and the Swedish-language University of Applied Sciences Novia, is the most modern teaching laboratory in the Nordic countries. On Monday afternoon, the Ambassador met with the leadership team of Technobothnia. He was also introduced to the 3D metal printing laboratory, chemistry laboratory, and robotics laboratory. VAMK’s Senior Lecturer Mika Billing showcased the robotics laboratory to the Ambassador.

“It is very gratifying that we have the opportunity to showcase the key research, development, and innovation environment of Vaasa University of Applied Sciences, Technobothnia, where we collaborate with our higher education partners. This environment provides an excellent platform for education and research activities in the field of technology”, says Acting President and CEO Ville Isoherranen.
