Classroom Doors to Remain Open
Notice to Students: Classroom Doors to Remain Open
Attention to all our students! We are making changes to the locking practices of classroom doors in the main building and Alera. In the future, classroom doors will no longer be locked, and in this announcement, we present four reasons for this decision.
Why the doors will be kept open:
- Efficient use of spaces for independent study and group work: Locking classroom doors restricts students’ ability to utilize these spaces for independent study and group work. Keeping the doors open promotes efficient use of the facilities.
- Smoother start to lectures: Unlocked doors allow for quicker access to classrooms, facilitating a smoother start to lectures.
- The opportunity to protect oneself in a threatening situation: Keeping the classroom doors open enables protection in a threatening situation.
- Undisturbed learning environment for students: Unlocked doors allow late-arriving students to access lectures without causing disruptions.
- Quiet space: Students can also use classroom spaces for relaxation.
It is essential to note that this change does not apply to staff offices, laboratory and simulation rooms, or Technobothnian facilities, which will remain locked.
This decision has been made in the interest of students, and we hope it enhances your study experience and lecture attendance.
If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please feel free to contact the school staff.
